In September 2015, in an extraordinary effort called 𝐑𝐔𝐍𝟓𝟎, Ferdie Cabiling set out on a 2,180-km run across the Philippines. He ran 50 km every day for almost 50 days, celebrating his 50th birthday along the way, to raise PHP 2,885,482 for scholars of Real LIFE Foundation. Ferdie ran from the southernmost tip of the Philippines in Maasim, Sarangani to the northernmost part in Appari, Cagayan, praying with government officials and preaching in churches on Sundays.
Writing as an experienced ultramarathoner, the Running Pastor chronicles his journey of faith and shares a unique perspective on the author of Hebrews’ exhortation to a group of weary and frightened first-century Christians―to run with endurance the race set before them.

𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 served as a member of the Bishops Council of Victory before his passing in 2024. He was a pastor in Victory for 40 years, passionate about preaching the gospel and making disciples. He was the Running Pastor, having completed marathons, ultramarathons, and a run across the Philippines. Ferdie’s legacy continues with his wife Judy, and their Children and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ian, Philip, Narra, and Laya.

𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫 refers to himself as a “former campus minister, amateur theologian, and professional storyteller.” He has collaborated on numerous books on ministry and missions. Walter lives with his wife, Linda, in Franklin, Tennessee.
