In the Triumph Song of Life: Turning Adversity to Strength
The title of this book is taken from the last phrase of the hymn, "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee." The book is a call to march onward despite our disabilities or difficulties in life, and to "look to the sun" so that we will "not see the shadows," as Helen Keller would advise us.
This book contains true stories from the author's interviews of five women who have overcome different life struggles of physical disability, poverty, sensory disability, losing a loved one by suicide, and a failed marriage. From these narratives and a review of literature, the author, with her theological and psychological insights, hopes to guide the readers to better understand suffering so as to be good "stewards of pain."
